I’m now offering death doula services in the Louisville, Kentucky area (including southern Indiana). That means I can help you one-on-one to plan a better death or navigate the labyrinth of post-death logistics and bureaucracy.
Pre-death planning
Are you dying? (Yes.) Is someone you love dying? (Also yes.) Whether the Grim Reaper is coming in six months or sixty years, it’s never too early to plan for death. I can help you decide what your ideal death looks like and together we’ll do our best to make it a reality. We can’t guarantee when, but how can be arranged.
Post-death coaching
The funeral’s over, and now you’re in paperwork hell. Been there. I wrote a whole book about how to handle post-death logistics—from probate court to taxes and beyond—and I’m happy to bring my expertise to your living room. I’m not an accountant or a lawyer, but I can help make legal and financial challenges more manageable.
Vigil support
I bet no one taught you how to behave around dying people. I can clarify what to expect during the active dying process, explain how to provide comfort to your loved one during their last days, and translate hospice jargon into plain English. I also offer limited respite care. If you need a coffee break or a date night, I’ll keep watch.
Paperwork parties
Preparing for illness and death is more fun with friends. Get your pals together and I’ll come over with financial power of attorney forms and advance healthcare directives for you to fill out. I’m a notary, too, so I can stamp them right there! I’m not a lawyer, so I can’t help you make a will—but I can certainly offer tips and suggestions.
What will this cost me?
I offer my services on a sliding scale. You can pay anywhere between $25 and $75 per hour. No need to justify the rate. We can meet once, or we can meet a million times—it’s up to you. For paperwork parties, we can negotiate a cost per attendee. Let’s talk.
