OUR parents are dead

And we’ve got ideas.

In the few days since I’ve launched this site, people have been tweeting suggestions at me of items I may have missed. Always happy to add that stuff, as long as it doesn’t seem like a total scam! Two heads—five heads, a thousand heads—are better than one.

Here are some recent crowdsourced additions:

  • On the not-quite-dead parents page, people asked me to add questions about pre-paid burial/cremation plans and what they’d like to see in their obituaries.

  • Someone asked me to add information about bereavement fares—though based on my limited research, it sounds like many airlines are getting rid of them.

I also added a few things on my own initiative:

  • I clarified the role of an executor in probate court and explained the difference between revocable and irrevocable trusts.

  • I tried and possibly failed to explain cost basis when it comes to stocks, etc.

Thanks for sending your tips my way! More updates to come.
