Read all about it

I’ve added some more links to the Resources page:

  • Grieve Leave - a website that provides community and resources for those suffering a loss

  • INELDA - the International End-of-Life Doula Association not only helps you find a doula, but also offers online courses for those dealing with grief and death

  • Modern Loss - articles and essays that get into the strange, nitty-gritty aspects of grief—as well as the beautiful aspects

Thanks to everyone who shared these with me!

Grief is weird, man. Last weekend I was half convinced I should quit my job and train to be a funeral director. (In Kentucky you only need a three-year apprenticeship! More if you want to embalm bodies, though.) I figured I should let that urge sit a while—I still have the part-time job of executor/successor trustee to deal with.

I do feel like I’ve sort of…opened a Pringles can of death with this site. Once you pop, you just can’t stop. (My apologies to Pringles, who I’m sure have no desire to be associated with morbid little me.) Now that I’ve seen how confusing and frustrating this process can be on top of all the grief, I want to put all my energy into making it easier.
