And we’re back

Long time no write! In my defense, I was living my life on my own terms for once? I took a vacation.

You may remember I caught COVID back in August—and thanks to that miserable little virus, I had to miss a concert I had very much been looking forward to: everyone’s favorite Swedish Satanic metal band, Ghost.

An internet friend suggested I fly to LA and see them with her in California, but I assumed it would be prohibitively expensive. Then I checked Google Flights and found a $100 round-trip ticket. Hail, Satan.

I ended up spending 4 days in Los Angeles, watching an extra special Ghost show at the Forum (all I’ll say is more metal bands need backup dancers) and catching up with friends I don’t see often enough. And the following weekend I had Riot Fest tickets in Chicago anyway, so I flew straight there and enjoyed The Dresden Dolls, The Postal Service, The Breeders, and more. My ears are ringing and my heart is full.

Of course, I couldn’t escape executor stuff entirely. While I was in LA, the title company in Florida called: I’d need to have something else signed and notarized, and then overnight it to them. Did you know that notaries in California have to take your thumbprint?

After booking it around that famously pedestrian-friendly city (lol), I got it done. And it was worth it—this past Friday we CLOSED on the condo in Florida! I sold a house! I don’t have to go to Florida ever again if I don’t want to!

(Actually, I kind of want to, but definitely not where my parents lived.)

Now that I’ve checked their condo off the list, I should be able to finish the “sell all your parents’ stuff” section I’ve been working on for the site, so stay tuned for that. And for some other stuff which may come in listicle form.
