Book Update!

I wanted to make the title of this post into a portmanteau, but it simply wasn’t possible. Bookdate? It sounds like a romantic thing. Boopdate? Bupdate?

The point is: my dead parents book is on the way!

The draft was due to my editor on December 16, and I spent the prior two weeks working myself into a probably unnecessary tizzy. My sleep schedule still hasn’t recovered.

But I turned it in on time! And my editor just sent me feedback—so now I have to do another dive and make some changes over the next month. But it shouldn’t be quite as heavy lifting, since the thing is actually written.

I’m excited to see how this year goes. I have several friends who have published books, so I know roughly how the latter stages of publication work—but I’ve never experienced those stages for myself.

Design, blurbs, pre-orders. (Heads up: I’m going to be so annoying when pre-orders are available.) It’s going to be an adventure, that’s for sure!

I’ll keep you posted. I hope you had a good holiday season, and that “circling back” season is not too dismal.
